Research assistants in the lab will be involved in all aspects of an active, scientific research laboratory. Duties vary but can include participant recruitment and scheduling, data collection, analysis of mobile-sensor datastreams, and helping to present study results at professional meetings and in scientific publications. RAs will work on interdisciplinary teams bridging developmental science, clinical psychology, computer science, human-computer interaction, and electrical engineering; students from all majors are welcome to apply. RAs in the lab are expected to commit 10 hours per week, work independently, and be comfortable interacting with children and families. Spanish-speaking students are especially encouraged to apply. A minimum 2 semester commitment is required; a 3 semester commitment is preferred. Course credit can be arranged. If you are interested in applying to work as an RA, please send your resume/CV and a copy of your unofficial transcript (screenshots are fine) to dailyactivitylab@gmail.com.
Masters Students
Students interested in data analysis, programming, and machine learning are welcome to apply. Past students (from iSchool, Business School, and Computer Science) have completed projects/theses on the following : developing a postpartum chatbot, creating a virtual dashboard displaying study results, creating data processing pipelines, identifying periods of infant distress in audio data and building models to predict depression scores and therapy treatment outcomes. Experience with programming (python, R or MATLAB) is recommended and machine learning and statistics is preferred. Experience with signal processing is a plus but not required. A two semester commitment is preferred, but a one semester commitment can be arranged and course credit is available. If you are interested in working in the lab, please send a cover letter and your resume/CV to dailyactivitylab@gmail.com.
