The Cognition and Communication Lab at the University of Texas investigates language production, that is, the cognitive processes that result in speech. Past and current research focuses on the timing of planning of spoken language, the generation and learning of proper names for people, and individual differences associated experience with different languages.

The lab houses a team of graduate and undergraduate students from the Departments of Psychology, Communication Sciences and Disorders and Linguistics under the direction of Professor Zenzi M. Griffin.
