Where do I park? Is parking free? Do you validate parking?<\/summary>\n

The clinic is located in the Sarah M. & Charles E. Seay Building (SEA), 108 E Dean Keeton St, Austin, TX 78712.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Complimentary parking is available for those who need it to attend appointments at our clinic. Because spaces are limited and must be reserved in advance, please let your clinician know ahead of time if you will need parking for your appointment.

The reserved parking spaces are located on Speedway along the side of the building. Your parking pass will indicate the specific reserved space number assigned to you, and it is important to park only in the designated space listed on your pass.

Parking passes are paper permits printed on special paper and must be displayed on your vehicle dashboard while you are parked. Parking regulations are strictly enforced, and vehicles parked without a valid pass or parked in the incorrect space may receive a ticket.

Your clinician may provide the pass to you in advance for your next appointment or meet you in the parking area at the time of your appointment. Each pass is valid for one use only and may be recycled after your visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are many alternative parking options around the UT-Austin campus that vary in cost. For more information about parking on campus visit\u00a0UT-Austin\u2019s Parking and Transportation website<\/a>. The closest garages are\u00a0Speedway Garage<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a027th Street Garage<\/a>. The nearest Pay-to-Park street parking is on Wichita St. between Dean Keeton St and 27th Street.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do I make an appointment?<\/summary>\n

If you are interested in any of our services, please complete our interest form<\/a> to get started. Clinic staff will follow-up with a phone call to review clinic policies and see if the clinic might be capable of meeting your needs. If it seems the clinic may be a good fit, they will assist you in scheduling an appointment.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

How quickly can I make an appointment? Do you have a wait list?<\/summary>\n

We are often able to offer an appointment within several weeks of someone contacting the clinic. However, the clinic is primarily staffed by clinical psychology graduate students, each of whom sees a limited number of patients for therapy or assessment. Because our clinicians follow the academic calendar, availability fluctuates and can be limited<\/strong>\u2014especially during summer months. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are interested in any of our services, we recommend completing our interest form<\/a> to get started. Clinic staff will follow-up with a phone call and can provide more specific information regarding availability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are times when we are unable to accept new patients for several months. During those times, we do maintain a waitlist and notify individuals on the list when openings become available to confirm continued interest. Do you offer a sliding scale or discounted rate?<\/summary>\n

As a training clinic, the clinic offers services at significantly reduced rates. However, we understand that cost can still be a barrier to care. Individuals who are unable to afford our standard fees are encouraged to ask about our financial assistance program.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

I’m looking for the “Psychology Department Training Clinic” – Is that you?<\/summary>\n

That’s us! Because we are the clinic in which the Psychology Department’s graduate students train, we are often referred to as “the Psychology Department’s Training Clinic.” It is our nickname! While accurate, that is a pretty<\/em> nondescript name! To better communicate to the community what we do, we like to use the name “Anxiety & Mood Clinic.”<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

Do you prescribe medication?<\/summary>\n

No. None of the providers at the clinic prescribe medication. However, we will be happy to work in conjunction with your medical treatment team or psychiatric medication provider. <\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

Do you bill insurance?<\/summary>\n

No. As trainees, the clinic providers are not contracted by insurance plans, which means the clinic does not take insurance and is not able to bill to insurance.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

How can I pay for services?<\/summary>\n

We accept debit cards and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, & Discover) as forms of payment. We do not accept cash as a form of payment. We do not accept insurance.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

What is your cancellation policy?<\/summary>\n

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide 24-hour\u2019s notice prior to your scheduled appointment time. Except in unforeseen circumstances, you will be charged the full-service fee for missed or cancelled appointments without 24-hour advance notice.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

How do I get access to my health care records?<\/summary>\n

You have the right to access your healthcare records. You may request access to your records in any of the following ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Through the patient portal:<\/strong> After logging into your portal, go to Messages<\/em> and select either \u201cAsk Scheduling\u201d or \u201cAsk Billing.\u201d Both options send a message directly to our administrative team, who can process your request.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. By email:<\/strong> Send a request to our administrative team at psychologyclinic@utexas.edu<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Through your therapist:<\/strong> You may send a message to your therapist or make the request directly during a session.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Once a request is received, our administrative team will work with you to clarify which records you would like to access<\/strong>and how you would prefer to receive them<\/strong>. Records are typically made available through the patient portal, but paper copies can be requested if needed.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

    How do I make a complaint?<\/summary>\n

    If you are dissatisfied or concerned about any aspect of your treatment, you may discuss this with the Clinic Director, Dr. Jolene Jacquart, who can be reached at (512) 471-8431.

    If you feel a clinic staff member or clinician has engaged in improper or unethical behavior, you can talk to the Dr. Jacquart directly, you may contact the licensing board of psychologists, or the US Department of Health and Human Services.

    <\/strong>Complaints can be filed with the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council by mail at 1801 Congress Ave., Ste. 7.300, Austin, Texas 78701 or phone at (512) 305-7700.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    NOTICE TO CLIENTS
    The Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council investigates and prosecutes professional misconduct committed by marriage and family therapists, professional counselors, psychologists, psychological associates, social workers, and licensed specialists in school psychology.

    Although not every complaint against or dispute with a licensee involves professional misconduct, the Executive Council will provide you with information about how to file a complaint.

    If you wish to file a complaint with the Office of Attorney General\u2019s Consumer Protection webpage<\/a>, please visit their website for more information regarding your privacy rights regarding protected health information; a list of state agencies, including the department, the Texas Medical Board, and the Texas Department of Insurance, that regulate covered entities in this state and the types of entities each agency regulates; detailed information regarding each agency\u2019s complaint enforcement process; and contact information, including the agency\u2019s internet website, for each agency listed above for reporting a violation of this chapter.
