Volunteers are expected to commit at least 7 \u2013 10 hours per week for a period of no less than four months (a two semester commitment is preferred). Research assistants work closely with our research team (which includes faculty, graduate students, and other research assistants). <br><br>Duties vary but can include assisting with subject recruitment; helping with laboratory studies; coding, entering, and analyzing data; and helping to present study results at professional meetings and in scientific publications.&nbsp;If you are interested in applying to work as a volunteer research assistant in the MDL, please fill out&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/utexas.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_8qqSD85DYyATLj8\">this form<\/a>. If we have an opening, someone will contact you via email. Unfortunately, due to demand and limited number of spaces, not everyone who contacts us will receive a follow-up email.&nbsp;<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-block-tn9mkjmq\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-info-box uagb-block-q33d8alu uagb-infobox__content-wrap  uagb-infobox-icon-above-title uagb-infobox-image-valign-top\"><div class=\"uagb-ifb-content\"><div class=\"uagb-ifb-title-wrap\"><p class=\"uagb-ifb-title-prefix\">02<\/p><h4 class=\"uagb-ifb-title\">Graduate Research<\/h4><\/div><p class=\"uagb-ifb-desc\">The Department of Psychology at the University of Texas has an outstanding graduate program in clinical psychology. Graduate students join our laboratory through acceptance to the clinical psychology program. I encourage individuals interested in a career as a clinical scientist to apply to our program. You can find more information about our clinical program on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.psy.utexas.edu\/\">Department of Psychology&nbsp;<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.psy.utexas.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">website<\/a>. <br><br>Graduate students actively participate in our ongoing research projects. They are also strongly encouraged to develop and implement their own independent research projects. As seen in the image attached.<br><br>This is a scam! We would never ask you to text information to us. We would only contact you from an official email addresses from the University of Texas (make sure these are not&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Email_spoofing\">spoofed<\/a>). We would also not ask you for any sensitive information, such as a SSN, banking information, or other such information. We would not send you a check to deposit via text or email (especially before we have even met), nor would we ask you to send us any money. If you are ever concerned about whether a possible research position is real or not, email us directly at&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:mdl@utexas.edu\">mdl@utexas.edu<\/a>&nbsp;(or Dr. Beevers at&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:beevers@utexas.edu\">beevers@utexas.edu<\/a>). Authorities have been notified of these phishing scams, but these scams can be hard to stop.
