Welcome

The Gilden Lab is a research lab directed by David Gilden in the Psychology Department of the University of Texas at Austin. Our research addresses a variety of topics in the general fields of memory and attention. Current projects focus on the temporal constraints of human cognition and how they vary with body size, specifically, the limiting timescale for rhythm perception, music effects on semantic priming and time-to-contact, transition points in auditory streaming perception, and the integration of notes into melodies.
